Racing Ahead  |  May 2017
CLASSICAL GAS
So, that’s pretty much it for another National Hunt season with the big
Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals now a distant memory. Okay, we’ve still got the Punchestown meeting at the end of April to look forward to but in terms of the domestic jumps action, we are done. A lot of highlights to be taken from the hedge-hoppers and plenty to keep jumping fans excited when looking forward to next season but, like it or not, the attention now turns to the flat for the next six months. The curtain for the flat turf season was raised at Doncaster last month, but as we all know it really doesn’t get going until May and June. As always, we get going early in the season with two of the five English Classics this month the one thousand and two thousind Guineas, as we get a chance to see some potential stars of the future trying to cement their names into the history books.
