AFTER nine years of mainline running, ex-LMS 4-6-0 No.46100 Royal Scot ran its farewell mainline trip on December 3, a private charter called ‘The Chairman’s Special’.
The 1927-built 4-6-0 ran outbound from London Victoria to Canterbury East,returning via Folkestone, Paddock Wood and East Croydon. Departing nine minutes late from the capital, the train reached its outbound destination over a minute early and returned to London at 16.41.
