CENTRAL TEXAS DELIVERS ECHINOIDS AND AMMONITES
Areas around Harker Heights, Texas revealed various examples of fascinating fossils, including echinoids and ammonites when members of the Paleontological Society of Austin participated in a field trip during the month of May. The area of focus was an exposure of the Walnut Formation, of the Fredericksburg Group, and the Albian Stage, formed about 105 million years ago. Society members spotted various specimens of Heteraster texanus, H. mexicanus, Phymosoma texanum, and Tetragramma, according to a report by Ed Elliot, for the Society’s Paleo Footnotes newsletter.
