Isaiah Harrison, Child Prodigy

Words BENEDICT TUFNELL

To anyone who has ever attempted a 2k on an indoor rower his numbers are unfathomable.

17-year-old, six-foot nine-inch Isaiah Harrison lives in the small town of Coeur d’Alene in northwestern Idaho. He has never been on a rowing team. He has no regular, formal coaching. He spends almost as much time swimming or running as he does on the rowing machine. He also owns every single world record going on the Concept2 indoor rower-in two separate age categories-including a 2k time that, at 5:49.6, wouldn’t be out of place on the US Olympic team.
