Same, But Different

Henley Royal Regatta returned this August. The Covid edition of the regatta saw a few departures from the norm, including the moving of the boat tent area to the opposite bank from the Stewards’ Enclosure, and a picnic area with big screens showing the racing, put in place to keep the crowds apart. Other non-Covid related changes included an updated layout to the traditional daily programmes, the omission of athletes’ weights from the programme for athlete welfare purposes, and an update to the strict Stewards’ Enclosure dress code to allow women to wear trousers (but not shorts) if they chose to. See our Henley highlights later in the issue.
