Three UK craft built for Japan

HOVERCRAFT

On 4 March 2020 Oita Prefecture in Japan announced that it would reintroduce the hovercraft as a means of public transport, connecting Oita Airport with Oita City, having previously operated the craft from 1971 to 2009. An order, worth £25 million, for three new Griffon 12000TD hovercraft, which can carry 80 passengers, was placed in November 2021.
