American Queen is the largest stern-wheeler ever built
AMERICAN CRUISE
With the acquisition of the fleet of sternwheelers operated by American Queen Voyages, new owners American Cruise Lines have already decided to scrap the 166-passenger American Duchess and the 246-passenger American Countess, perhaps an indication that the plan all along was to remove competing ships. American Countess was built in 2020 and American Duchess in 2017. There is also a suggestion that the largest stern-wheeler ever built, the 436-passenger American Queen, may have a similar fate.
