ON JULY 21, 2011, THE WORLD LOST COURTNEY “TITO” HALOWELL. Tito was a member of the original three-man team here at Street Trucks magazine along with Steve Stillwell and Brian McCormick. His impact is still felt today in the truck scene we all enjoy. This includes being a founding member of Negative Camber, which is on the verge of celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2022.
Many have honored Tito over the years since his untimely passing. David and Sandi McAught are among those people. In honor of Tito, they started the Courtney “Tito” Halowell Memorial Scholarship Fund. David grew up on the West Coast and attended some off the biggest and baddest truck runs around, and he wanted to now give back to the scene. So, he teamed up with Tito’s mother, Maggie Halowell, and began releasing items such as metal/lighted signs, pins and skate decks to commemorate Tito’s life.
