Ah, the good old days of home cinema, before you had to put up with buffering and DRM.
Either you’re joking or your ‘old days’ were much ‘gooder’ than ours. We were there, you see. You’d glance fearfully at your VCR deck, prepared for a futile battle with a machine that looked thrillingly futuristic but had the heart of a mechanical sadist. Even with the better VHS decks of the late ’70s and into the ’80s, you’d get the wonderful experience of nearly breaking your fingers trying to force down the metal ‘rec’ and ‘play’ lever-style keys to tape your favourite show.
