Join us for an absurdist sports game, a Roman Era Cthulhu bloodbath, a crime family feud in New Streets of Capenna, and a ton of ways to run for cover in our terrain guide – all in issue 66 of Tabletop Gaming.

• BLASEBALL – The absurdist sports game and internet sensation hits our tabletops in style. We talk to Wayfinder Games about their attempt to tame a game of weird weather, sports playing mice and deep meta-lore into a classic card battler.
• COHORTS OF CTHULHU – We head back to the Roman era and find that even in the world of be-sandaled heroes, Cthulhu is still up to its old tricks.
• NEW STREETS OF CAPENNA – Jump into the new Magic: The Gathering set and meet the crime families who are running this town. (And also some really exciting new game mechanics!)
• THE TERRAIN GAME – We dive for cover in this exploration of the most interesting movers and shakers in the RPG terrain, props, and battlemaps game. We show off some of our favourites, and explore how they’re making our games live on the tabletop.
• BLACK ROSE INFERNO PAINTING GUIDE – We return to the black lodge to brush up on our best evil wizard impressions.

PLUS 27 huge reviews, including… Nemesis: Lockdown, Cryptids: Urban Legends, Rule Benders, Death in Space, Tiny Turbo Cars, Caesaar!, Origins: First Builders, Vivid Memories, Bad Company, Glow, Bitoku and A big box double-bill with the Cave vs Cave Big Box and Star Realms Big Box reviews going head to head.

Waste of 6$ - if you're here for painting tips.

Bought this for the Dungeon Depths terrain guide; the site makes it look like it'll be a step by step to really making these pop, but it turns out to be barely 4 pages of 3 or 4 progression images and barely a sentence of guide for each. Not only this, but there's barely a discussion of most of the terrain, getting the OSL shown on the main pic, or really anything else.

Gave it a 3 cuz it'd be unfair to give it a 1 since I only cared about the painting bits.

Fantastic magazine

There are so few good tabletop gaming magazines being published today, which is strange, considering the resurgence in traditional gaming. Aside from the 3 popular miniature war gaming magazines, there's a serious lack of magazine style content for serious board gamers. So it was with much anticipation that I looked forward to the publication of Tabletop Gaming last year, which promised broad coverage of ALL types of tabletop games (board, card, minis games). It has not disappointed. Besides lavish visuals, the magazine offers dozens of quick-hitting game reviews, combined with some in-depth interviews of companies and game designers, and features on hot games. It's a fun read and highly recommended. I've just re-upped my subscription for another year. Keep up the good work guys! Reviewed 06 June 2016
