SALE’s attendance of 8,214 for Friday night’s visit of champions Harlequins to the AJ Bell was disappointing, and shows just how difficult it remains to build a big Rugby Union crowd in the north-west, despite Manchester being one of the biggest conurbations.
Given the problems with trying to get anywhere on the roads on a Friday evening, surely a regular Saturday afternoon slot would be better.
