The twelve Stradivaris played by Janine Jansen on her album

In January 2022 I sent a letter to The Strad with several queries pertaining to the somewhat confusing names of instruments by Antonio Stradivari. Now I am able to answer one of them. There are two ‘Camposelice’ Stradivaris, both dating from 1710. The ‘Vieuxtemps, Camposelice’, played by Janine Jansen on the album 12 Stradivari, has a one-piece back. Its description can be found on page 156 of Ernest Doring’s How Many Strads? (1949). The other 1710 ‘Camposelice’ has a two-piece back and was formerly played by Váša Příhoda and Josef Suk. In Doring’s book it is described on page 157. Since 2004 it has been owned by the Nippon Music Foundation. The violin can be heard on María Dueñas’s debut album for DG, Beethoven and Beyond, released in May 2023.
