T he two best things about Jiu Jitsu are 1) it contains some actual jiu-jitsu and 2) Nic Cage’s appearance is much more than a glorified cameo. But apart from a few bursts of kinetic flair and a (mercifully short) POV-style experiment midway through, this is rote genre fare. The extraterrestrial element is lifted wholesale from Predator, while cookie-cutter characters spout exposition and exhaust any shred of audience empathy long before the underwhelming finale. Much-too-brief Tony Jaa is wasted on this.
