Juliet Stevenson and Jared Harris put in strong performances as a couple haunted by the disappearance of their daughter a decade ago. When a 24-year-old woman (Firebrand’s Erin Doherty) appears, claiming to be their long-lost girl, their reactions are wildly different. Is it really her? And what matters most here: the truth, or regaining the sense of a family unit? Virginia Gilbert’s film has a low-budget feel but an intriguing and increasingly gripping story, taking a thought-provoking stance on themes of certainty, perception and relationships.
