Between 1956 and 1969, Elvis Presley starred in no less than 31 feature films – a lucrative period, the latter half of which conversely saw him gradually fade from chart prominence.
Elvis found himself chained to mostly middle-of-the-road projects, but still there were bright points.
Whilst a demand for fast turnaround times and a punishing schedule inevitably led to a drop in the King’s own impeccable standards, Presley and his top band of session musicians were simply too good not to have produced a fair share of memorable soundtrack performances.
