As a sub-newsletter of the free weekly Memoir Mondays newsletter, editor Sari Botton has recently launched First Person Singular, which has original personal essays of 1,500-2,500 words on a variety of subjects from ‘a diverse variety of authors, subjects, voices and tones’ on deep personal experiences. Essays in which writers ‘consider difficult experiences though the lens of absurdity’ are particularly invited. The payment rate for accepted work is $200 and authors retain all rights.
Email completed essays along with a synopsis of a paragraph or two. Include ‘First Person Singular’ and the title of your piece in the subject line to: pitch2sari@gmail.com
