The 2019 Observer/Anthony Burgess Prize for Arts Journalism is open for entries.
The competition, which is for an arts review, has a first prize of £3,000, and two runners-up prizes of £500. The winning piece will be published in the Observer.
To enter, send a previously unpublished review up to 800 words of new work in the arts. This could include, but is not limited to, a book publication, music release, art exhibition, event, or theatrical production or broadcast, but the artwork must have taken place in the year before the competition closes. Enter by uploading your review in one of the permitted file formats through the online entry system, or by post.
