The BBC and HBO are jointly producing TV adaptations of JK Rowling’s three Robert Galbraith novels about detective Cormoran Strike. The series, to be called The Strike, will adapt The Cuckoo’s Calling, The Silkworm and Career of Evil. Tom Burke (right) has been cast as Cormoran Strike, with Holliday Grainger as Robin Ellacott. Filming began in November, with The Cuckoo’s Calling to be shown as three one-hour episodes and the second and third books to be divided into two parts each. The writers are Ben Richards and Tom Edge.
