She was a prolific writer, probably best known for novels and short stories adapted into films, such as Hitchcock’s Rebecca and The Birds. Daphne du Maurier produced sixteen novels, many short stories, several biographies, three plays, a memoir and books about Cornwall, the county she loved and lived in for most of her life. Here I’ll focus on three of her best-loved novels, Jamaica Inn, Rebecca and Frenchman’s Creek.
