The Natural Parent Magazine

56 - Spring 2024 Parenting life can be hectic, but by pausing you can take a step back, find your calm, and appreciate the simple things in life. Wherever you are at in your parenting journey, our stunning latest issue is packed to the brim with inspiration, advice, tips and real-life experiences to guide you on your journey. In Helen Bartom’s latest ‘Positive birth story’, we learn about Becky’s “redemption birth”, after experiencing a traumatic birth. She talks about her determination to have a whole different experience second time around and “what she did to feel calm, confident and empowered” in her waterbirth to Callie. Tracy Gillett offers a refreshing perspective on baby sleep, discussing the hidden benefits of wakeful nights. She challenges the notion that “a wakeful baby in your bed is a problem to be solved” by explaining the benefits to brain development, safer sleep, circadian rhythm development and supporting crucial growth and development. If you are a breastfeeding mum wondering about the effects of feeding on your monthly cycle, Danielle Facey has all the information you need. She talks about when your period might return, how it effects your feeding journey and whether you can get pregnant while you are breastfeeding. Annaliese Jones provides some great information about children’s nutritional foundations once they are through the early feeding stages and onto proper meals. Acknowledging the significance of early nutrition to health and future disease, as well as the effect of certain foods on behaviour and concentration, her article aims to simplify how we nourish our children. Wishing you safe, fun and happy times with your families. Love from the TNP Team xxx
