After watching Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, I was inspired to make a nasty orc. My end goal was to make a full character that ran real-time in Unreal Engine 5.1, and looked like it could be from a next-gen Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor game. I started with a bust in ZBrush to figure out where the character was going. From there I went into concepting the armour in 2D. I wanted to show visual elements of a balrog face without going over the top into World of Warcraft territory.
