China Southern Airlines has officially ended its revenue passenger operations with the Airbus A380. It’s final service with the double-decker was on November 6-7 when CZ 328, operated by B-6139 (c/n 088), departed Los Angeles for the airline’s Guangzhou base. The flight marked the end of an 11-year relationship between the quadjet and China Southern. At its peak, five A380s were operated by the Chinese airline – the only carrier in the country to operate the super jumbo.
ZIPAIR Tokyo will increase the frequency on its new route to San José. The news of the expansion came before the maiden flight, which is due for December 12. From January 11, the carrier – awholly owned subsidiary of Japan Airlines – will connect Narita and San José five-times weekly, up from an initial thrice-weekly frequency. The carrier operates Boeing 787s, with 18 full-flat premium seats alongside 272 standard options. ZIPAIR has previously stated its longer term intention to boost the route even further to a daily service “later in 2023”.
