EMBRAER HAS secured 120-minute extended-range twin-engine operations (ETOPS) approval for its E190-E2 and E195-E2 jets.
The green light from Brazil’s Civil Aviation Authority ANAC (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil), the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) doubles the original limit that E2s are permitted to fly from a diversion airport. It will enable E2 operators in Brazil, the US and Europe to fly more direct routes over water and other remote forested or desert areas, saving time and fuel.
