Aportable light source can be absolutely critical in any situation. Many people, when they grab their EDC gear before leaving in the morning, neglect to remember to take with them a quality flashlight or headlamp. You keep an umbrella in your truck even when it is sunny, but you never know when a good day will turn into a bad night. Lost? Breakdown? Flat tire? Drop your keys in the driveway at 2am? Myriad examples exist of situations where a good flashlight means the difference between a bad night and a good night. Plus, there is a strong psychological component at play here. It is deep in our human nature get a little skittish when the lights go out because that’s where evil hides. Being able to light up the night helps us to feel better about our situation, no matter what it is. Not to mention that being able to spot the boogeyman before he finds us is half the battle.

The flashlights of yesteryear are dead and gone, their heavy D-cell batteries have long ago lost juice and the tiny incandescent lightbulbs have faded to darkness. Flashlights today are made to be small, powerful and long lasting. In an everyday carry situation, you want a flashlight that will tuck into your jacket pocket or even fit on your keychain while still providing enough light to illuminate whatever problem befalls you without weighing you down.
