Walter Leblanc’s (1932-86) paintings and sculptures create illusions of movement through the manipulation of unconventional media. Originally from Antwerp, Leblanc started exhibiting with the ZERO movement in the early 1960s.
In keeping with the interests of the group, Leblanc was interested in redefining the traditional experience of viewing artworks, giving canvases new depth and working with minimalism and abstraction. His works address rhythm and light using unconventional materials such as thread, latex, PVC and metal.
