In ATG No 2354, we previewed Christina and Paul Bishop’s new glass fair launching on Sunday, September 23, at Ickworth House, the Georgian Italianate ‘palace’ near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, now owned by the National Trust. Paul, who runs Specialist Glass Fairs with Christina, updates us on the show.
“We are fully booked at Ickworth with a maximum 40 exhibitors and there seems to be quite a bit of enthusiasm for the new venue,” he said. “There is our usual mix of exhibitors, with about 60% contemporary artists and collectable mid-to-late 20th century glass dealers, while the rest offer antiques including Georgian, Victorian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco.”
Bishop added that if the Ickworth event works out well it would become the ‘sister’ fair to the organisers’ annual glass fair at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire. “Ickworth in September, Knebworth in February,” he said.
