A Mid Argyll man, believed to be the oldest serving councillor in Scotland, has been recognised in the Queen’s New Year Honours. Councillor Donnie Mac- Millan was one of a number of Argyll and Bute people to receive an award in the 2019 list.
Oban monument conservationist John Beaton, who works for Historic Environment Scotland, receives an OBE for services to the built environment and the community in Argyll.
