POLICE Scotland is appointing youth engagement officers around Argyll and Bute as part of nationwide plan to strengthen relationships between communities, young people and local police.

PC Craig Stamp, 28, is the first youth engagement officer to be appointed in the region and is based in Helensburgh. Speaking about his duties in the role, PC Stamp explained: ‘My job is to try to break down barriers and stereotypes between the police and youths in Argyll by being a visible presence around schools and communities.’
