ACCORDING to latest statistics, the population of Argyll and Bute has increased.
The National Records of Scotland figures show that the area’s population grew by 240 people over the year to the end of June 2016 to 87,130 - a 0.3 per cent population increase.
Cleland Sneddon, the area local authority’s chief executive, said: ‘This is really welcome news. As a council our focus is on creating jobs, opportunities and growing our economy. These figures show that Argyll and Bute is a great place to live, work and invest in.’
