In a stirring talk in Lochgilphead Parish Church Hall arranged by the Dalriada SNP, former MP Anne McLaughlin spoke of the history and plight of the Suffragette movement, whether it was eThective, and what every person could do to aid women’s rights today.
She explained how far the Suffragettes were spread, naming a few from Argyll such as the Women’s Freedom League of Clydeside who congregated on Bute on a regular basis and Eunice Murray who was the first woman to stand for election in Scotland and was arrested for speaking outside Downing Street.
Horrendous
