Arran has achieved a good deal of success in the North Ayrshire Schools cross country league they have been taking part in over the past four months.
Organisers from the schools, led by Arran High head teacher Barry Smith, have consistently taken a team of 22 young people from the island to the series of four races on the mainland.
Arran had two outright winners - James Mc- Carthy in the S2 boys and Rhea Webster of Shiskine Primary in the P5 girls. The other places were: S3 boys, Charlie Bonner, second; S3 girls, Ciara Wood, second; S2 boys Milo Godwin, second; S1 boys, Connah Wright, second; S1 girls, Daisy McNamara, second; S1 girls, Julie Hamill, third; P7 boys, Ruaridh Lindsay- Smith, Lamlash Primary, second; P7 boys Archie Gunyadi, Shiskine Primary, third.
