People across the island are being urged to help the Kilmory primary school backpack project.
The Mary’s Meals initiative helps children in Malawi by sending them recycled school bags, polo shirts, skirts and shorts to let them get the most out of their education. The P5-P7 class is organising the project with the support of the whole school.
As well as sending their old school bags to Malawi, the Kilmory children are filling them with pencils, pens, crayons, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, pencil cases, notepads, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, bars of soap, spoons, small balls, shorts or skirts, T-shirts or dresses, sandals or flip flops for children aged four to 12 years.
