MARC FENWICK won after being joined in the early stages by James Dunce, Finn Brodie, Tadelle Geremew and Adrian Bailes.
The leading quintet had a substantial lead over the record field of 590, passing halfway in 16:05. Fenwick pulled away on the second circuit, opening up a 24-second gap over Dunce at the finish.
Helen Waugh led all the way in the women’s race after passing halfway in 18:21, just ahead of Chloe Price. The margin remained the same to the finish line with Louise Talman third.
