Dapol released its first 7mm scale ‘08s’ back in 2017 to great fanfare, and several new versions have recently been announced. Once a ubiquitous sight on the British Rail network, the ‘Gronks’ endeared themselves to railway staff and enthusiasts alike, with many examples still at work today, 70 years after the first shunters entered traffic.
Dapol’s new versions include both hinged and flush bonnet doors and cover the 1960s-1990s era of BR operation. There’s also a more up-to-date livery option, depicting Railway Support Services’ 08460. Each model will be available in DCC‐ready, DCC‐fitted and DCC sound‐fitted format.
What’s planned?
