The 1990s were quite possibly the peak of Bangernomics motoring. We didn’t know it at the time, but we had the last of the truly fixable runabouts.
I’ve become slightly fixated on this era, and the other day I tripped over a 1993 Vauxhall Cavalier for sale, which rather surprised me. I can’t remember the last time I saw a working one for sale. It prompts the question: are we wrong to consider something so old and creaky?
