One duo won in four different cars at Motor
Racing Legends meeting
A mid the increasingly tawdry and toxic Formula 1 title battle between MaxVerstappen and Lando Norris, racing refreshment was sought and found far away from the spotlight’s glare in recent weeks. Alast blast of historic motorsport for 2024 took me back to Silverstone, where I found myself privileged to witness something special.
Now, multiple wins for a driver or pair in a single day isn’t uncommon at this level, but you don’t often see the same duo win four in a single afternoon. Then to rack up a quadruple in consecutive races… well, that’s something else again. I haven’t found conclusive proof that it was a first; perhaps a speedway rider or short oval hot-rodder has pulled such a feat. But as racing days go, Nigel Greensall and John Spiers won’t forget their golden Sunday any time soon, especially as they reaped their hat-trick-plusone in four different cars running with three different teams. What a winning streak.
