THE REBIRTH OF WILLIAMS
Claire Williams has fought back to prominence in recent seasons. Since claiming its last world championship in 1997, Williams has won only eleven grands prix and, until 2013, had been in an almost permanent state of flux. It's position became more tenuous when it parted company with BMW at the end of 2005. Williams regularly found itself squabbling in the midfield and, aside from a shock win in the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix with Pastor Maldonado, there was very little to smile about. But three years ago,the foundations for the future were put into place. Now the team believes there is nothing to stop it challenging Mercedes.
