Bass Player UK  |  85 December 2012
BGM's cover star this month is John Taylor of Duran Duran. Readers of a certain age will remember that JT adorned teenage fans’ walls at least twice as often in the 1980s as any other member of Duran. What’s more, the man possessed unearthly skills when it came to crafting and delivering bass parts that were a perfect synthesis of funk, disco and pop. A long overdue candidate for BGM’s front cover, then. Elsewhere in this issue, you’ll find a range of bass players grilled by our intrepid team, including soul bassist and singer Meshell Ndegeocello, Eric Bass of stadium-rockers Shinedown and David Vincent of the mighty Floridian death metal band Morbid Angel. This coverage of a wide range of musical genres and playing styles is deliberate on our part: we want to bring you as much bass in every issue as we can, and believe us, if we could squeeze even more into 92 pages, we would.
