Welcome
Rishi Sunak’s latest reshuffle has seen yet another housing minister kicked out, as Rachel Maclean becomes the latest victim of this seemingly cursed role. Lee Dowley is now the 16th incumbent since 2010. But it’s not his first go at the job, as he previously held the position in 2022, albeit for just 49 days as part of Liz Truss’s infamously short tenure at Number 10. Fingers crossed he lasts longer this time round, as the country needs strong leadership to get us out of the housing crisis and champion the ways that self and custom build can help more people have access to high-quality housing.
