TWINKLING trees have been lighting up across Mid Argyll over the past few weeks but the switch-on ceremonies have been far from straightforward.

Argyll and Bute Council employed Paisley-based outside contractors to fit the lights across the region. But with the contractors not arriving until shortly before the lights were expected to be illuminated, many organisers feared their events would have to be cancelled and communities let down.
