AS THE huge companies which supply electricity prepare to put up electricity costs again, life becomes that little bit harder for ‘normal’ working people.
These gargantuan firms, with shareholders hungry for profit, have such a stranglehold it can be difficult to see an alternative.
But it does not need to be a one-way street. The customer can wrestle back some of the initiative by keeping suppliers on their toes and shopping around. There are buyers’ groups out there too – a good way of working together to get a better deal.
