MISTY Mid Argyll played host to people from the Land of the Long White Cloud as Maori visitors travelled to Kilmartin Glen.
Aimed at sharing and reviving traditional culture, last month’s expedition involved 39 people from the language school of excellence in Te Awamutu, near Hamilton on New Zealand’s North Island.
Speaking after a trip to Dunadd hill fort, Maori language expert Paraone Gloyne said: ‘That was the first spiritual custom that we’ve participated in during the time of our journey. It was there that we finally felt the spirit of the Scottish people.
