The A’Chruach Community Fund has helped the Dunadd Community Enterprise to take a significant step towards realising the dreams of the local community. The enterprise has been awarded more than £20,000 so that a development officer can start to build on the ideas that local folk have come up with. A major next step is to take forward the ideas from the recent inaugural meeting.
More than 60 members attended the meeting, where there was a lively debate about the possible purchase of Kilmartin Church. Those present and the feedback given through the website were overwhelmingly in favour of carrying out a feasibility study to see if the church would make a viable community building.
There are lots of ideas as to how it could be used, but the Dunadd Community Enterprise is keen to make sure that the true costs of purchase, renovation and then on-going running costs are identified.
