THE EGG Shed project seemed to be going so well.
There were no down-sides. A former industrial site was being redeveloped; a wellknown building was to be refurbished; Ardrishaig would be spruced up and business drawn to the area. That was before a row broke out about the presence or otherwise of nesting birds on the development site.
It would be surprising if Scottish Canals and its consultants had overlooked this matter. Environmental considerations are woven into the planning process so this should have been picked up, perhaps, at that stage.
