October special sheep sale held at Dalmally

A SPECIAL sale of all classes of sheep and lambs was at Dalmally Auction Mart on Friday October 28.

In all, 3,159 head of all classes were sold. Lambs, consisting mainly of third draws sold to average £32.11 or 118 pence per kilo. Lambs sold to a top of £70 for Texel crosses from Dunans and 173 pence per kilo for Texel crosses from Barguillean. Ewes from Gallanach Farm sold to £56 for blackface whilst blackface gimmers from Duncroisk sold to £68. Brackley Parks (McArthur) sold Texel rams to £300.
