Heads Up – more than a mental health group

A FRIENDLY ‘hello’ on Argyll Street and a homemade meal on a Thursday afternoon. These were my experiences with the Mid Argyll Heads Up group.

When I was invited along to the group’s day out to Islay, I jumped at the chance. Not only had I never been to a Scottish island before – being from Northern Ireland – but I was also keen to find out more about what the group gets up to and how it benefits its members.

Walking towards the bus stop on the morning of Friday February 2, I didn’t know what to expect. Would people talk to me if I wasn’t a regular group member? As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by everyone who seemed pleased to see me.
