A CANADIAN family of Argyll descent kept up a 120-year-old tradition by returning recently to their ancestral home.
The pull of blood is strong for expatriate Scots and their descendants, and the Campbells have been coming back to Auchindrain since the 1890s.
The Canadian connection started in 1821 with the emigration of Malcolm Campbell -perhaps in his mid-thirties at the time, with his wife Isabel and baby son Peter to the US. In 1830, they moved to Kent county, in Ontario, Canada.
