Brass Tacks, a lively, highly experienced group of professional brass players, is to perform in the community theatre at Arran High School on Saturday October 15 at 7.30pm. Its music spans the ages and is aimed at a wide audience, young and old, classical and modern popular. The group’s Arran programme contains, for instance, a dance tune from Tudor times, a piece by Corelli and on through Beethoven, Debussy and Paul Dukas of Sorecerer’s Apprentice fame to George Gershwin and New Orleans jazz. There will even be an arrangement of ‘Loch Lomond’.

Playing will be Finlay Hetherington, leader, with John Sampson on trumpets, Fiona Lund on trombone, Robert Newt on French horn and Robert Fraser on tuba.
