Artists across Arran displayed their talents at the Arran Visual Arts exhibition at Lochranza and Catacol Hall and it saw nearly 500 people visiting the exhibition and voting for their favourite works.
There was a healthy 115 entries in this year’s exhibition with 24 pieces being snapped up by collectors, totalling a value of almost £1,000. In addition donations for entry collected £430 for the club’s funds which will go towards workshops, running costs and special events. The people’s choice competition, where people vote for their favourite artwork, was also well supported with 364 people casting their vote.
The top 10 in the people’s choice awards were: 1 Tracy Gibson with You looking for me? which had 49 votes, 2 Karen Bell with Spring Hare with 16 votes, 3 Jill Hargan’s The Ferry with 15 votes, 4 Yvonne Bailey’s Sheep Dog, Judith Dunkerley’s Corrie Cottages and Janelle Paton’s True Love with 12 votes, 7 Janet Rawlin with 10 votes, 8 Janelle Paton’s Night Haze and Norma Russell’s Sunset over the Bay with nine votes, 10 David Penn with Lochranza castle and Phil Holmes with North from Goatfell with eight votes.
