Reece Prescod (centre): says he would have quit the sport without the support of outside funding

SPRINTER Reece Prescod says he hopes to convince selectors with his performances on the track next summer that he should be on the British Athletics World Class Performance Programme (WCPP) for 2017-2018 having been overlooked in the latest selection.
The 20-year-old sprinter finished 2016 as the joint fourth fastest Briton over the 100m, clocking a 10.04 in July to go level with Olympian James Ellington in the rankings, and fifth over the 200m with a 20.38 on his Diamond League debut in Lausanne toward the end of August.
